Yarn Review & Design Reveal

First & foremost, I want to say THANK YOU to Salena Baca, owner of Design Wars & Salena Baca Crochet, for humbling me by asking me to be a part of the Design Wars Challenges. I have followed Design Wars since the very first challenge & have LOVED all the new designs from all of the talented designers!
Don't forget to VOTE for your favorite design!!

Let's begin with the yarn review....
Design Wars: "What colors Medley did you use?"
Glamour4You: "I used 3 colors for my design in the Medley Challenge: Eclectic was the main color used for the main body of the peacoat & all of the vertical braiding, Urban was the accent color used for the horizontal braiding at the waist, bottom & cuffs & for the collar, & Stained Glass was the contrast color used for surface crocheting in spots where the main & accent color meet up, just to give more dimension & texture."
Design Wars: "Describe your Medley Design (who it's for, why you made it, design elements...)"
Glamour4You: "I designed the Braided Glam Peacoat. I usually design my items with me in mind - what I would like to wear or see other people wear. This way I can stay true to my uniqueness & creativity. I designed the peacoat because I LOVE the look & style of the way a peacoat fits on a woman. They are very feminine & look good on any body type. I LOVE lots of texture, so the braids stand out to give the peacoat a 3D-like quality. Plus, they make the peacoat extra warm!!"
Design Wars: "How would you describe the feel and texture of the yarn?"
Glamour4You: "The feel & texture of the yarn is heavenly! The yarn is so very soft & squishy! It is very nice to crochet with too; I did not have any trouble with it splitting or catching on my hook."

Design Wars: "What types of projects do you think this yarn would be best used for?"
Glamour4You: "This yarn is perfect for any crochet project that needs to be warm or for a quick crochet item. The bulk of the yarn lends to its warmth & speed for any project! The softness of the yarn is also great for garments, such as coats/sweaters, hats, & slippers."
Design Wars: "Can YOU find this yarn locally? If not, where would you recommend fans purchase this yarn?
Glamour4You: "I was able to find a minimal selection of Medley at Joann's. But primarily, I purchase most of my yarn online (since I live in a small town far away from any big-chain yarn shops), so I would most definitely purchase this yarn again through Red Heart's yarn store online."
And now, without further ado........
Braided Glam Peacoat

**Special Thanks - Mel Boonstra Photography & Becky Twiss Model for the AMAZING pictures!!
The Braided Glam Peacoat, designed specifically for the Design Wars “Medley Challenge”, uses the ever so soft & wonderful Red Heart Yarns Medley yarn. The Braided Glam Peacoat is such an eye-catching piece! It is so warm & cozy that it feels like you are wrapped in one big HUG!! The texture & detail stands out to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art! The Peacoat comes in 5 sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL) but can be easily customizable to suit YOUR style & desire. Do not be intimidated by this peacoat - I have written the instructions for this design for ALL crochet levels in mind & have added many picture tutorials to accompany the instructions.

You will ROCK YOUR STYLE in the Braided Glam Peacoat!

I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to each one of my testers that worked so hard making sure my pattern is error free & easy to work up.
Simply D' Best
Diane from Simply D'Best says: "I really anticipate the Braided Glam Peacoat to be the design of the year for 2015. This well written and tested pattern uses basic stitches that work up much easier and faster than you would dream possible. While keeping you toasty warm, this design will have you receiving compliments on your work as well as the beautify of the coat every where you go."

Cozy Cactus Creations
Beverly from Cozy Cactus Creations says: "The Braided Glam Peacoat is such a fun, stylish, and well designed coat! The stitches are basic, the comfort and fit are perfect, and the added touches make this coat something you could easily see on a high end designer's winter runway. The bulky yarn makes this a larger project you can finish and wear in a reasonable amount of time. The stretchy warmth of this jacket makes me want to hang outside in the cold!"

Loop Leigh Loops
Kristi from Loop Leigh Loops says: I never imagined myself doing anything like the Braided Glam Peacoat. I pretty much just stick to the simple basic stitches but I gave this Peacoat a try and I totally surprised myself. Here I am making this incredible garment with simple basic stitches that anyone can do. The stitches work up so quick, and before you know it, it’s done! This design is amazingly fun, fast and fabulous. I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the talk when you wear it.
