For those that don't know me, I LOVE skulls. To me, skulls represents KNOWLEDGE & STRENGTH. Our skulls are what protect our brain - our most precious part of our body (aside from our heart, of course!)
I started loving skulls because I am a big Halloween fan. But in the most recent years, Sugar Skulls have blown up in popularity - and what better way to express your creativity with all the intricate details a Sugar Skull can provide to a self-proclaimed Obsessed Fiber Artist!!
This is the 1st of MANY collections I will be posting for your Handmade wants & needs! Please check back often to see what goodies I have compiled for you!

Here are the rest of the colors Red Heart has to offer in the Boutique Treasure line.
I will describe working with this yarn in one word..............HEAVENLY!
The yarn is very loosely spun & has 2 plies of 2 different colors, changing colors throughout the entire skein. At first, I thought the looseness of the plies would lead to "splitting" as I worked crochet stitches, but I was very surprised that it didn't!
The softness of the yarn is truly like crocheting with a cloud! The yarn flowed through my fingers with such care & grace!
The colors....THE COLORS!!!!! I would love to scream to all of the world how STUNNING the colors are in this yarn. The gradation of the colors are so subtle, complimenting the softness of the yarn, yet the colors POP creating such a unique variant in each crochet piece you create! The yarn creates such a mosaic of color transformation, it is hard to NOT look at the crochet piece!
Here are some pictures of the Chevron Lace Shrug while I was creating the pattern.
So lets get on to the FREE pattern......

This experience is one that I have truly LOVED! I have grown in knowledge, not only in a business stand point, but also in my crochet pattern repertoire! There is so much this adventure has taught me & I am excited to see what is brings in the future!

Mmmmmmmmm........is your mouth watering yet!!!
Well, before I share with you the amazing recipe for Watermelon Rind Preserves, I must share with you the person that introduced this scrumptious recipe with me.
Schere Kellum Wade.......I must say she has pure talent, which is hard to come by these days, and is a woman after my own heart (even though there are hundreds of miles separating us, I truly believe if we lived close we would be inseparable!!)
I first met Schere when she joined my pattern testing group. She definitely stood out among the rest, with her quick wit, immense crochet skills, and her ability to proof-read a crochet pattern & find every imaginable error (which runs supreme in the Crochet Designing World)!! I felt like I struck GOLD when I met her!! But still, she is so much more than that - she truly is a "one-of-a-kind" soul with her caring & helpful nature and most importantly, her "I Can DO" attitude!! She is definitely someone you would be HONORED to know & I truly feel she will be a friend forever!!
Is your mouth still watering...............just a couple more minutes, I promise!!
Someone in a group I am in on Facebook posted this AMAZING pattern: Skull Shawl by Kungen Och Majkis (yes, she is Swedish, but don't worry, there is a great translation to English with a superb picture tutorial for this pattern).
One word explains how I felt about this pattern.....LOVE!!!
I was so in love with this pattern that I had to start crocheting it right away!! My only problem was (which really isn't a problem if you are a fan of Shawls) the pattern is written for the entire shawl.
I really didn't want to make an entire shawl....so I revised the pattern to make a "stand-alone" square, which essentially you can turn the square into a shawl again or use it for a countless number of other projects/items.
The Pretty in Plaid - Purse was such a fun pattern to design. I love the texture the "plaid" look gives to the purse. It is so versatile and gives the impression of something difficult to make, when in reality it pretty easy.........Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone - let them think you put a lot of hard work into it!!
I designed this Snow Flake with this in mind: Simple..Pretty.. Versatile
There is so much you can do with this Snow Flake it's crazy: Ornament, Applique for clothes, Scarf using multiple snow flakes & attaching them all together, Doily, Coaster, Window Hanging, Starch into a bowl......
You can use any size yarn with any size hook to make ANY SIZE Snow Flake.
Pretty neat, huh?.
